Let’s sparkle and shine…

I may have become speechless as a result of Tuesday’s event that held incredible historic and personal value for me. But one thing I am rarely speechless about is fashion. Those lucky enough to attend the inaugural events (my invite clearly got lost in the mail) made no attempt to hide their excitement. It often translated quite literally into what they wore.

Clearly the stars chose to sparkle and shine in the run up to the inauguration of Barack Obama . These sequined looks are all perfectly on trend and fitting for the event. I absolutely love Kerry Washington’s sequined armoured dress (if anyone knows who the designer is please let me know!).

Since Barack Obama represents the ‘remaking of America’, Catherine Maladrino’s flag dress is an enlightened outfit choice. And I’m glad that Meryl Streep is such an enlightened actress.

However, boxing promoter Don King shows us another way to go:

Stylish?… Perhaps not. But patriotic to the tenth power!

I love Kerry Washington’s style, she’s always wearing something amazing. Don’t know who the designer is though.
