Gloria Baume @ Teen Vogue

I’ve notice a lot of interest in the ladies at Teen Vogue,. So I’ve decided to post some fashion profiles on them, starting with Gloria Baume.

Gloria Baume is the Fashion Director at Teen Vogue, so it’s her job to stay on top of the current fashion trends and styles.  Her own style is decidedly practical, fun and youthful, without coming across as too young or scruffy. Overall, she looks remarkably down-to-earth and low key. She once said in an interview, ‘dress according to the reality of what your day will consist of’. Good advice.

It’s a little hard to gather information about her, but that’s probably just a credit to her professionalism. But I did come across the following story. In 2006, Gloria Baume and her, then 8 year old, daughter Anita were both moved by stories of young children who had lost their hair due to leukemia treatments. So Baume and her daughter both cut off their lovely locks and donated the hair to a charity for called Wigs for Kids. Wigs for Kids provides wigs for child cancer patients and helps them to look themselves again. It is such a lovely organisation.

If you are interested in finding out how you can support Wigs for Kids click here. Locks of Love is a similar charity also worth checking out.
